Ms. Florence Nightingale was born in Florence, Italy, on May 12, 1820. During the Crimean War, she and a team of nurses improved the unsanitary conditions at a British base hospital, reducing the death count by two-thirds. Her writings sparked worldwide health care reform. Started from this she has developed nursing to its best recognition as a profession and so on there are millions of nurses enjoying the status of professionals. So these followers of The Lady with the Lamp Ms. Florence Nightingale called Nurses are trained and Skilled to provide Nursing care in scientific application with the essence of Humanitarian concern.
Every budding Nurse student has to be made to understand the importance of Nursing care. Symbolically it has been celebrated with responsibility of promising the body of Nursing Profession. Therefore the first year Nursing Students are made to take the Oath of promise developed for Budding Nurses by Ms. Florence Nightingale which is celebrated as ‘Lamp Lighting & Oath taking Ceremony’.

The Lamp Lighting & Oath Taking Ceremony: All the students were asked stand-up with the Candle to be lighted and our special Guest Mrs. Chandrakanta Bajpai & Mrs. Satpal Sidhu, Nursing Superintendent, Teerthanker Mahaveer Hospital & Research Center, Lighted the Lamp of some students simultaneously the Respective coordinators Lighted the lamp of other students.
The entire first year students took part in Ms. Florence Nightingale oath which was led by Assistant Professors.
Special Song by Students: After the oath taking ceremony a special song was dedicated by the Ist year GNM, & B.Sc. Nursing students.
